LEAGUE OF LEGENDS: LCS SUMMER FINALS
We were tasked to create a promotional system to be used throughout the LCS Playoffs and Finals that focused on the Elemental themes of the “Drakes”. These elemental Drakes: Cloud Drake, Ocean Drake, Mountain Drake, Infernal Drake, and Elder Dragon are common and formidable opponents that teams must overcome throughout the game.

ELEMENTAL THEMES
These themes were executed by building out signature environments and effects that would take over the world. Each week of gameplay would have a unique approach and visual style.

PROMOTIONAL STORYTELLING
We developed a modular system with various camera angles and updatable content windows that could be edited together into spots of any duration.

OCEAN
The ocean theme used vegetation and organic elements that animated in a growing time-lapse effect and reacted to the wind and air deformations.

MOUNTAIN
The ominous mountain theme was created with with custom rock formations and hand sculpted assets. Minimalistic lighting was used to create a brooding tone.

INFERNAL
Using Realflow, we built fluid simulations that were used to create the liquid magma effect flowing over the crackling lava rock formations

The cloud theme was executed using FumeFX for fluid simulation to help create the curling smoke and atmospheric effects

ELDER DRAGON
We explored the energy effect for Elder with particle advection and simulations, resulting in emanating light streaks that envelop and illuminate the dragon.

Opening Ceremony
We provided a tool kit of digital assets used in the opening ceremony of the LOGIC performance for compositing and on-set elements, but all the glory goes to the great creative team at Riot Games and the director. Enjoy!
